Marinas Update

Landings Harbor and Delegal Creek Marina’s operational hours were adjusted recently for fall. Both Marinas are now open Monday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Daylight hours will roll back towards the end of October, and operations will adjust to meet boating and customer service needs.

The dredging project at Landings Harbor is underway. Focusing on a new approach to this project and executing a solid plan is a priority. Presentations during the recent Board and committee meetings received positive reviews. Annual dredging is budgeted and paid for through revenue proceeds from the operations of the Marinas. Staff will be hands-on during the dredge operations, along with our contracted vendor. High occupancy at both Marinas presents a unique challenge regarding clearing slips and staging boats. During past projects, wet slip vessels were relocated to Delegal Creek Marina to allow the dredge to remove silt from within the slips. Since Delegal Creek is at 100% occupancy, this year’s plan involves staff relocating vessels within the Harbor basin to achieve this important part of the project.

With the approach of cooler weather, now is the time to consider your boat maintenance plans. Other than just having the engine maintenance performed, prep your boat for the winter and periods of downtime. A fresh coat of wax and cleaning the bilge, fish boxes, and bait wells are all things to keep in mind. The Ship’s Store is stocking up on popular marine cleaners, waxes, and protective items to help keep your boat looking great. Landings Harbor team members can help you tackle some of the items that often catch you off guard. In addition to our established wash and engine flush services, we are expanding to include other cleaning and maintenance items. Please tell us what you want, and we will help put together a plan for your boat to keep it in tip-top shape.

Half-day and full-day Kayak rentals remain available from Delegal Creek Marina seven days per week. During the winter, staff will perform repairs and maintenance to our rental fleet. Delegal Creek Marina’s Ship’s Store is always stocked with refreshments and snacks to take along on your trip to view the beauty of the area marshes and wildlife surrounding The Landings.

Please follow the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) regulations when using crab traps at Landings Marinas’ piers. From time to time, DNR officers make their rounds to check traps at Landings Marina. They have been known to issue violations and remove untagged traps. As a rule, you should check your trap every 24 hours. Follow this link to ensure that you are following the State regulations:

We look forward to seeing you at the Marinas!
