What a wild year 2020 is shaping up to be! I greatly appreciate our boaters and the community coming together to help ensure the safety and health of all those enjoying the Marinas during the closures and limited operations due to COVID-19 in April.
As we look forward kicking off of our busy season, we are carrying forward with best practices we relied heavily on during the recent crisis, such as heightened protocols for cleaning, encouraging boater safety, and use of the BoatCloud system for all boat movement reservations. If you do not have BoatCloud access, or if you have questions regarding that system, please contact Marinas Office Manager Katie Smith (firstname.lastname@example.org or 598-1901).
Before summer is fully upon us, I remind our boaters of a few key policies we have in place to keep operations flowing as quickly and safely as possible at the Marinas:
The boater must be present at the time of his or her vessel’s launch.
Boaters should not linger in the launch area on their vessel. Please be courteous to others and conduct your business as quickly as possible.
Boaters should have their own set of lines and fenders to tie up on the docks.
Remember, the use of wash racks is limited to one hour.
All boats left in the basin at Landings Harbor after hours will be pulled out and placed back in their respective slips first thing each morning.
Memorial Day, which falls this year on May 25, marks the official start to our summer season and to our extended hours. Landings Harbor Marina will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Delegal Creek Marina will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Hours of operation will return to 5 p.m. closures at both Marinas after Labor Day (September 7). I hope all of you make the most of these extra few hours to enjoy your time out on the water!
I look forward to meeting more of our boaters in the coming months, and a decrease in sand gnat activity with warmer temps on the way!
