Coronavirus Update from The Landings Association
Below are a few areas of interest that you may find helpful as you continue practicing social distancing and responsible care for yourself and your loved ones.
The Landings Company Transitions to Remote Work Plan
Starting at 5 p.m. today (March 20), The Landings Company's office will be closed. Agents and staff will continue to serve clients and the community remotely. The North Gate will be unstaffed on Sundays until further notice. Guests still can enter the North/Marshwood gate by using the callbox located approximately 60 yards in front of the gatehouse.
Screening of Visitors to The Landings
Several residents have emailed The Landings Association requesting we (TLA) screen visitors before allowing access to the property.
The Association has consulted two residents who are Center for Disease Control (CDC) employees and physicians, who specialize in infectious diseases, on this issue. They both agreed screening at our entrances is not warranted from an epidemiological perspective. Containing the spread depends on each and every resident practicing social distancing and the hygiene protocols as outlined by the CDC.
The Landings Association’s Board of Directors also has discussed this issue and, absent a federal mandate granting authority, we are not screening people coming into The Landings for COVID-19. However, it is important to recognize that, as a single-family detached community, there is inherent social distancing from our gates to a visitor’s destination. In other words, there is no “unavoidable social interaction” resulting from access.
The best and only line of defense is up to each resident individually, and that means social distancing and frequent, thorough hand-washing. TLA also continues to remain proactive in thoroughly sanitizing and disinfecting Association high-touch areas and ensuring social distancing among employees and in our interactions with residents, vendors, and the public.
SeeClickFix: A Social Distancing Platform for the Community
With the continued spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and closures surrounding the pandemic, The Public Works Department is limiting in-person meetings with residents in accordance with the social distancing recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the federal government. Additionally, this limitation of social interaction is to protect the health and safety of our residents and staff.
While we are limiting our social interaction, residents still can report issues or concerns they observe throughout the community. If you happen to drive over a pothole, have a problem with your mailbox, would like to remove a tree located on your property, or notice a safety concern on a community path, you can report these issues and many more (e.g., street light outages, dead animal on roadway, storm drain concerns) utilizing SeeClickFix, a free downloadable mobile app and web tool that has been customized for The Landings.
The platform provides the Public Works Department’s staff with a centralized work request management system to administer issues from creation to resolution, all while engaging residents throughout the process.
Once an issue has been submitted, The Landings Association will receive a notification via email. After receipt of the notification, the service request will be acknowledged, assigned to the proper staff member, and will be updated until its completion. Residents, in turn, will receive notifications along the way when the issue has been acknowledged, commented on, and closed.
