Public Works...Working for You!
BrightView Landscape Contractual Work
As part of this year’s enhancement credit, BrightView Landscapes extended the irrigation system at Delegal Marina this week in preparation for the plant and shrub installations that will begin next week. BrightView continues to install pine straw at the gates and amenity areas in preparation for the upcoming holidays. As a reminder, this work is included within our annual landscape contract.
2019 Storm Drain Repair Project
To date, Southeast Pipe has completed the repairs associated with the storm drain pipes on MacKay Lane, Savy Lane, and Howley Lane. The contractor is currently working on the pipe repair near the Wells Fargo Bank and anticipate completion with this repair by the end of the week.
Annual Fire Alarm Testing
As part of our annual fire safety testing, the fire alarms are tested to ensure that all systems are working properly. Our service provider, Pye & Barker Fire and Safety, was onsite Thursday to perform the required testing on the following facilities: TLA Administration Building, Delegal Marina Sunset Room, Landings Harbor Marina, BrightView Landscapes Maintenance Building, and the Public Works Building.
Lagoon 102 Riprap Weir Replacement
As mentioned last week, in-house crews began the replacement of the riprap weir located in Lagoon 102 (near the intersection of Delegal and Marsh Haven Lane). Crews completed the replacement ahead of schedule and will restore the disturbed area around the replacement over the next week, which will include some reseeding and replanting of the disturbed area.
BrightView Gate Flower Bed Change-Outs
Over the next week, BrightView staff will change the flower beds out at all gatehouses, marinas, and TLA’s Administration Building. The flower varieties include kale, violas, foxgloves, ornamental cabbage, snapdragons, and dianthus. As a reminder, this work is included within our annual landscape contract with BrightView.
