On the Security Scene
On Saturday, September 7, Security and CCPD responded to a residence on Deveaux Lane regarding a vehicle accident without injuries. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the resident who stated that a tree fell on her vehicle while she was travelling on McWhorter Drive. The incident caused minor damages to the vehicle. Officers checked the area on McWhorter Drive to ensure the tree was not obstructing the flow of traffic.
Security and CES responded to Cuthbert Lane on Monday, September 9, for a reported gas leak. A commercial vendor was performing work in the area and caused the line to rupture in the ground. Atlanta Gas was contacted to locate the leak. Once the leak was located, the gas was shut off and repairs were made.
On Tuesday, September 12, Security and CES responded to a residence on Moonbill Lane for a possible gas leak. The resident’s daughter stated that she noticed the smell of gas when she arrived at the home. Upon arrival, CES personnel determined there was not a leak. However, the gas stove in the residence had been left on ignite rather than having been turned off.
Security and CES responded to Chatuachee Crossing on Wednesday, September 11, for a reported gas leak. Atlanta Gas was contacted to repair the leak. At this time, the cause of the leak is unknown.
Security and CES responded to a residence on Coventry Close for an assistance request on Monday, September 9. The resident stated that a pipe burst in her bathroom and flooded the bathroom as well as the bedroom. CES successfully turned off the water to stop the flooding.
