Join representatives from the University of Georgia Master Gardener Extension Volunteers (MGEV) at 5:30 pm for an educational presentation covering various residential landscaping issues. The goal of the presentation is to provide residents with the information and education needed to use best cultural practices in their yards and learn about how to enhance their properties naturally. They have received input from The Landings Association’s Public Works Director Sean Burgess as well as other resident Master Gardeners. Topics include evaluating your current needs, effective landscaping and where to begin, planning and implementation for replacing or refreshing residential landscape, deer resistant plants, and turf grass care and maintenance. They will provide information, an audio/visual presentation and website links regarding how to find the correct information for our area.

Representatives from Green Thumb Garden Club and The Landings Garden Club will also be in attendance.

Nancy Berulis,

Master Gardener

Nancy moved to Savannah four years ago but has lived in the South for more than 40 years. Retired from a nursing career, she continues to learn about horticulture and shares that knowledge as a volunteer with the Master Gardener program. She has been and is certified as a Master Gardener in Louisiana, Florida and Georgia. Besides working in her own garden, she volunteers with Hospice of Savannah and loves to travel.

John Clayton,

Master Gardener

John, a native of Savannah, completed the Master Gardener Extension Volunteer (MGEV) program in 2019 and is currently pursuing his turf management certificate through the University of Georgia. He was instrumental in starting the Garden Clinic Call Center and continues to work at the clinic each week. John spent his childhood summers working on his grandfather’s farm in north Georgia where he spent most of the day helping his grandmother and aunts snap beans and shuck corn because the older men would not allow him to sit on the back porch and drink whiskey with them until he was 18 years old
