Local fire departments have historically hosted Christmas parades in which Santa Claus is escorted through the town with great fanfare. Southside Fire Department, now Chatham Emergency Services, has hosted such parades in most divisions for over 25 years. For the first time, Skidaway Island Division will join in the festivities and host its own Santa Detail Parade.

Chatham Emergency Services, Skidaway Island Division, will escort Santa throughout the island (including South Harbor and Modena) according to the following schedule:

December 20: Deer Creek, Oakridge, Franklin Creek, Moon River Landing, and South Harbor

December 21: Plantation and Midpoint

December 22: Marshwood and Modena

December 23: Rain date
