Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Skidaway will welcome Anne Lindsay from UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant for the Monday, November 14th, seminar at St. Peter’s Church beginning at 7 PM. She will provide an overview of their work with school groups and the public on coastal and ocean science. UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant provides research, education, and training to promote the economic, cultural, and environmental health of Georgia’s coast and to prepare citizens to become good stewards of coastal ecosystems. Educators host pre-K-12 grade students for hands-on programs on the coastal environment, as well as programs on our coastal heritage for artists, writers, and scholars, The list of programs and projects goes on and on. Anne will present the importance of all of these programs. Anne M. Lindsay is the Associate Director for Marine Education (Senior Public Service Associate ) and University of Georgia Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant. Anne’s professional work experience lies in environmental and informal science education. She teaches marine science and coastal ecology to PK-adult audiences. She oversees programs, personnel, and operations of the Marine Education Center and Aquarium in Savannah, Georgia. The focus of Anne’s teaching and leadership work is to provide opportunities for students of all ages and backgrounds to connect with the natural world and to develop as stewards of the Georgia coast. She holds an MS in Zoology, Clemson University and BS in Zoology, University of Georgia. The CCA’s November raffle prize is a $100.00 gift certificate from Bass Pro Shop.
