WHAT: Annual release of turtle hatchlings
WHEN: 4 to 5 p.m., Aug. 26, Sept. 9, and 23
WHERE: Sunset Park (707 Landings Way South)
HOW MUCH: free
WHAT ELSE: Attendees will learn how volunteers rescue Diamondback terrapin eggs from the sand traps, how they are incubated, and then will have the chance to help release the hatchlings into the marsh. Only 50 attendees per session. Participants can attend just one session due to the popularity of this event. Participants must pre-register online at skidawayaudubon.org and must be five years of age or older. Parking is limited, and masks are advised for unvaccinated attendees.
